Abstract

The Daily Star is a well-known and reliable English newspaper in Bangladesh. The newspaper started its journey officially on January 14, 1991, and was founded by Syed Mohammad Ali. The Daily Star provides the citizens of the country with authentic and reliable news, following the motto, “Your Right to Know”. The Daily Star is currently managed by freedom fighter and former UN official Mahfuz Anam, the editor, who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of journalism ethics. This report aims to elaborate on my 12-week internship experience as a sub-editor at the Digital Desk of The Daily Star, the industry-leading English daily in Bangladesh. This internship experience provided me with a valuable hands-on approach to digital journalism and allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge from my Media and Cultural Studies courses at BRAC University.
