Smart home technologies can make homes more energy-efficient and allow users to save money. This concept of making the life of the common people easier has increased the demand for smart homes. However, the rising demand also calls for security concerns. Many approaches have been taken for enhancing the security of IoT installation, but most of the issues concerned with its protection are still left to deal with. On the other hand, the rise of the popularity of Blockchain, because of the security of data it ensures, has made it a potential component to pair up with IoT. Along with the many benefits of Blockchain integration, it also ensures the decentralization of data. In this paper, we aim to discuss the need for Blockchainbased IoT and its limitations. Further, along with the paper, we consider the past implementations.
