Antioxidant activity was determined using total phenolic acid and total flavonoid content assays, while antidiabetic property was evaluated by α-amylase inhibition assay. The phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of flavonoids, polyphenols, glycosides, tannins, carbohydrates, steroids, and resins in L. thorelli. L. thorelli exhibited strong antidiabetic activity, inhibiting α-amylase by 93.9 ± 3.429% at the highest concentration, closely resembling the standard's (Glimepiride) 95.36 ± 3.345% inhibition rate. Furthermore, the plant exhibited a moderate level of antioxidant activity, with a phenolic acid content of 45.18 ± 4.138 mg GAE/g at the highest concentration. The findings inferred that L. thorelli can be used as a potent antidiabetic agent.
