The corporation was created by the Local Government (City Corporation) Amendment Bill 2011 on 29 November 2011, passed in the Parliament of Bangladesh, following the President's approval and Dhaka City Neighborhood Upgrading Project (DCNUP) is a project implemented through project implementation unit (PIU) of DSCC.
