Already established diagnostic evaluation methods have improved survival rates, but the number of disease carriers has increased, which calls for deeper analysis of the disease. Among these, the presence of SNPs in the regulatory regions that alter the way genes are expressed is one of the factors in the development of breast cancer. The goal of the study is to investigate the link between the KRAS rs 6174370 and breast cancer risk in Bangladeshi women, with the intention of finding a potential biomarker for early diagnosis and risk detection. The case study comprised 236 individuals, with 112 confirmed cases of breast cancer identified through histopathology, while the remaining participants served as controls without any disease. The rs61764370 in the KRAS gene was genotyped using the PCR-RFLP technique. The results showed that patients with GT genotypes had 55.36% of cases compared to 20.97% in the control group, which increases the risk by 4.5 times (aOR = 4.548, 95% CI: 2.590-7.988, p < 0.001). The GG genotype showed the lowest effect as compared to the others.
