For managing diabetes, many pharmacotherapy and synthetic medicines has been developed but it is seen that those medicines are less patient compliant and holds limitations. So nowadays researchers are interested in plant derived medications which are known as phytochemicals. In this review article, detailed studies are provided about phytochemicals that are used as therapeutics for diabetes mellitus. This review gives scientific facts of phytochemicals such as- Flavonoids. Alkaloids, Terpenoids, and Phenolic acid which are antidiabetic potential. For using phytochemical derived medicines in mainstream, more research and clinical studies are required.
