Memory is usually the most severely affected domain initially and gradually it affects other cognition related activity like orientation, language, judgement, perpetual ability and praxis (the ability to carry out complex actions). Alzheimer disease is the most common cause of dementia, and may be involved majority of the cases. It is a primary degenerative disease which leads to dementia of insidious onset, most commonly in later life.
