Converter circuits are one kind of power electronics circuit which allows us to convert direct current voltage from one level into another level. With this pace of development in power electronics field and industry, now we can now switch, convert power or eliminate higher harmonic unwanted component out of output energy with much improved power factor. Low power factor leads to low efficiency, increased line loss, heat issue in machine and high total harmonic distortion. Therefore, it is essential to improve power factor and reduce line current harmonics for an efficient system. Also, power factor varies according to the load the source is connected to. With Smart Power Factor Correction unit, it is possible to get a constant output DC voltage in spite of variable load using Arduino, passive filter and pulse width modulation (PWM)en_US
