Abstract
A smart headgear is a type of protective helmet used by the rider which makes bike driving safer than before. In today's world, a noticeable increase in daily road accidents is attributed to motorcyclists' non-compliance with helmet usage. This study aims to address and prevent such accidents by emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets. The Advanced headgear design incorporates an IR sensor to detect helmet usage and an Alcohol sensor to identify whether the user is under the influence. If alcohol is detected, the bike's ignition is automatically turned off, ensuring safe riding conditions. The ignition is activated only when the user wears a helmet and is not under the influence of alcohol. Utilizing Nodemcu and various sensors such as IR sensor, Vibration sensor, GPS module, and MQ-3 Alcohol sensor. This work utilizes the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). This concept of advanced headgear can be implemented globally offering enhanced safety for motorcycle riders and potentially saving numerous lives.
