Abstract

Our digitized and fast-paced world which saw the revolution of science and technology at its peak contributed most to the rapid urbanization and industrialization. The impact of this revolution on the environment is great but not good. Now that we have countless innovations it is time to take a step forward with consideration of the sustainability of the environment and proper usage of its limited resources. The best way to achieve that is by recycling the primarily produced objects. By ensuring proper monitoring of the waste produced and management of that can pave the way for recycling. Recycling waste is of maximum benefit especially in solving innumerable environmental problems. It can also contribute to a nation's economy by producing many employment opportunities, land use reduction, and minimizing the disposal cost of wastes [1]. While all these sound very appealing, the problem persists in the very root which is gathering the garbage while it is still in the recyclable condition and distinguishing whether the garbage is recyclable or not. This precisely is the purpose of this paper, to propose a cheap, easy to implement, and least time-consuming system. Using NodeMCU, 3 Ultrasonic sensors, GPS module, Moisture Sensor with Amplifier and Blynk app a possible solution is proposed which would have constant monitoring over the garbage level to keep track of the level garbage can and detect the moisture level of the trash chute to identify wet garbage and constantly update the data in the server. Then it would notify the collector through the Blynk app when the trash chute needs to be emptied along with a message marking whether the disposal is recyclable or not. It is designed with the view that would allow us to spend less and gain more.
