Real time task for which timing must be guaranteed is most important requirement in biomedical measurement systems. If the system fails to meet the deadline it can end up with severe error for the measurement purpose. In this thesis, time delay is observed for an open loop biomedical system under different operating systems. To guarantee the response time of the biomedical data acquisition system hard real-time Linux operating system is proposed. The system is implemented both in Red Hat Linux and in windows. In case of closed loop system this time delay degrades the performance of the system and cause the Stability problem. The research given in this thesis aims to analyze time delay for closed loop Bio signal Analyzer, introduced by hardware and software in real time communication. Total time delay is calculated both theoretically and practically and the results are found to be quite similar. A controller needs to be designed to eliminate the stability problem caused by time delay. The mathematical model of the closed loop control systems in this regard is also developed for future work.en_US
