| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of an electric power system is to provide electricity to its customers with acceptable levels of reliability at the lowest possible cost. In this thesis, we propose an efficient method for power distribution system reliability evaluation considering momentary interruption. The proposed method is based on sequential Monte Carlo (MC) simulation technique. The method is effectively used for evaluating cost of customer interruption and duration of interruption length in a complex distribution system. A comparative analysis between analytical and MC time sequential simulation based results is also presented. Satisfactory results are obtained from the analysis. Sensitivity analysis of different variables of distribution system reliability is also conducted. | en_US |
