This research attempts to find out the diverse factors accelerating the process of code switching and code mixing among the Urdu Speaking Bihari Hair Dressing Communities of Dhaka. There are some social, economic and political factors that lead a community to switch from using one language to another. The hypothesis of this paper is – diverse factors and circumstances actively contribute to accelerate code switching and code mixing among Urdu speaking Bihari hair dressing communities of Dhaka city, which need to be identified and recognized in order to explore the bilingual behaviors of the members of these communities. To test the hypothesis, a survey was conducted with different respondents from different localities. After analyzing the findings of the study, the hypothesis has been proven true. The paper concludes with some proposals on how such code switching and code mixing can be checked more effectively.en_US
