Code switching in face-book by Bangladeshi face-book users

Abstract

This research paper aims to find out the motivation behind code switching in Facebook statuses and their replies by Bangladeshi Facebook users. The occurrence of code switching in Facebook is regular. But the type of code switching varies based on social relation. To investigate this statement a number of Facebook status and comments was observed. Also a survey questionnaire was designed and a group of people (with a specific age range, educational background and bilingual characteristic) was selected. After collecting the data it was analyzed through mixed method. And the above statement was proven to be true.
