Abstract

Business organizations are now-a-days eager to automate their systems so that they can do their tasks quickly and easily. The demand for software has increased compared to the past years. To meet this demand and to support the business organizations software development firms have grown up. But both the users and developers of software face problems during the software development process. These problems are responsible for software failure and if not failure it causes big problems when the users start using the system and the developers face intensive maintenance work. This scenario is no different in Bangladesh. This research includes a study of the reasons why software projects may fail and the problems in the context of Bangladesh, how the latest techniques such as Joint Application Design and Prototyping can be used to reduce the problems of requirement collection. This paper also includes a description of a software project developed using these methodologies.
