Teacher’s role in minimizing undergraduate students’ language learning anxiety

This study attempts to find out the causes of anxiety amongst English language learners and to
find out the role of teachers in minimizing such anxiety. The data is collected by surveying
students, interviewing students and teachers from private universities of Dhaka city. Anxiety is
one of the important factors in language learning. Therefore, the aim of the research is to find out
the causes of language learning anxiety from both the learners and teachers perspective and also
to find the teachers’ role in minimizing the learners’ language learning anxiety. To conduct the
research, the researcher follows a mixed method data collection procedure. The data collection
includes survey questionnaires and interview questions for both students and teachers. So, this
study provides a descriptive view on the anxiety amongst the university students and the role of
teacher in reducing the anxiety.
