Factors influencing the Bangladeshi submitted to the department of English and in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree indigenous students attitude towards learn second language in Dhaka
Abstract
This research attempts to find out the various factors influencing the process of learning Bangla
as a second language in different communities. Around 50 indigenous students living in Dhaka
city have been selected to conduct the survey. Along with that the collected data have been
analyzed on the basis of a mixed method which consists of both quantitative and qualitative
methods. The results recommend that learners’ social, personal, educational, situational factors
can make a huge difference in learning the second language (Bangla). It also shows that
learning exposure is important to make an effective progression. The analyzed data shows the
fact that all the factors related to second language (Bangla) learning can be influential for some
learners but for some it can work as non-inspirational. The study is important for all the speech
communities in Bangladesh to know more deeply about how the minority people of the country
is dealing with languages especially with Bangla language within the country.
