Academic institutions face a barrage of information security incidents such as data theft, malicious software infections, hacks into their computer systems, and infiltration of other entities via their networks. Adverse impacts of these incidents include compromised private data and intellectual property, substantial financial losses, and potential threats to critical infrastructure, public safety, and national security. Despite these issues, little research has been conducted at the policy, practice, or theoretical levels, and few policies and cost-effective controls have been developed. The purpose of the study was to identify security vulnerability and threats, then find some countermeasure to mitigate these vulnerability and threats.en_US
