This internship was undertaken at the Samaj Kalyan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS), a national

During the last 3 (three) months intern at SKUS, I worked on day to day official work. Moreover, I
was assigned in the project namely “Emergency shelter assistance for the most vulnerable
households affected by cyclone Roanu in Bangladesh at Kutubdia Upazilla in Cox’s Bazar”
which aims to protect people in need of shelter support on an emergency basis, through provision of
shelter materials and guidance for construction as well as the alleviation of post disaster psychosocial
impacts.
During Internship, I performed various duties like project implementation; day to day office work,
resource mobilization; communication & documentation, involve in emergency shelter support
project through managing, monitoring and supervision. Through these performances I gained crucial
experience that has resulted in immeasurable impact in my aptitude in various fields.
The internship helped me to acquire knowledge in depth on professional communication, time
management, team building, report writing, work in grassroots level with poor and vulnerable
disaster people, critical thinking and managerial works.
This internship has highly broadened my knowledge base through performance of various office tasks
and field activities and through trainings attended.
I recommend more organizations especially NGOs, national and international donor agencies to open
up their doors to young people and especially students who are studding development studies to help
build their capacity and expose them to various job challenges.
