Postmodernism is relatively recent phenomenon that has influenced the works of many contemporary writers. this paper seeks to look at how the postmodern culture is presented in EI Hablador by Mario Vargas Llosa and The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon. The paper will also look at how these novels observe old myths and tales to relay their stories. it will further look at how both the writers attempt to present the hybridity and chaos prevalent in the postmodern society . the paper will thus be an investigation into the postmodern themes of both the novels.
