dc.description.abstract | The role of the body in determining and destabilizing the subject‟s position within a given framework has been discussed with concentrated effort in feminist academia with a view to understanding the dilemma of sexual difference. It has rendered the body into the fragmenting frontier between the inner and outer, the psychic and the material. This dissertation adopts the psychoanalytical lens in examining Jeanette Winterson‟s postmodern fantasy Sexing the Cherry to investigate the limits to meanings attached to the body and its function in assembling and disintegrating the subject. | en_US |
