Development of Carbon Monoxide detecting device using MQ-7 sensor along with its statistical analysis
Abstract
We are in the 21st century, and nowadays many of us are concerned about our
surroundings and environment. Ever since the industrial evolution the
greenhouse gases level increased. So does the concentration of carbon
monoxide gas in the atmosphere. Carbon Monoxide gases are present in
various workplace and its presence is more significant due to burning of
hydrocarbons. Day-by-day, the concern regarding the level of Carbon
Monoxide is also arising due to such increase in industrial growth. Such
problems cannot be overlooked nowadays. There are many sensors developed
and used for sensing the level of Carbon Monoxide in various hazardous places
like coal mine, sewage, etc. In our thesis we have been working with one such
sensor which is the MQ-7. This sensor is easily available and affordable in our
country Bangladesh. MQ-7 is a highly sensitive sensor for the determination of
the level of carbon monoxide via an optical filter. In our thesis we have
completely analyzed the analog and digital output of this sensor with various
materials which gives out various levels of Carbon Monoxide when burned. We
have discussed the relationship between the concentrations of Carbon
Monoxide with the analog voltage reading in order to calibrate the sensor and
besides we have carried out some simulation to support our data. Details of our
work will be discussed in the following chapters.
