Chevron Bangladesh is the world leading integrated energy company which is doing
operation in Bangladesh from the couple of years for the oil and gas exploration and
production predominantly in Blocks 12, 13 and 14 which are Bibiyana,Moulavi bazar and Jalalabad in the greater Sylhet region, located in the northeastern part of the country. Chevron supports Bangladesh's goal to reduce the nation's reliance on imported energy by actively investing in projects that deliver more gas to Petrobangla. Generally, hiring of labor is the task of HR but in Chevron Bangladesh the hire of labor (HOL) is under the ownership of SCM (Supply Chain Management). SCM conducts the HOL process with help of HOL Agencies which are the outsourcing company provide the supply of labor or contractor based on the requirement of the Chevron. Chevron Bangladesh hires lot of personnel for the contractual position called contractors and those are the employee of agencies not Chevron. Due to expansion of the business the need of the contractor’s position are increasing so does the role and responsibilities of SCM of Chevron. In this report I have discussed mainly the organization part, my particular job during the internship period and the project part where I discussed about the role of SCM (Hire of labor) in HOL process and its challenges. In the job part I have showed how I perform the assigned task and the different aspects to accomplish the task which will give the proper understanding regarding my role and responsibilities for being an intern here. As well as,I have dedicated my effort to work on project part that will provide the complete picture of the contribution of SCM in HOL process and challenges. As I have gained little knowledge doing internship there so from my point of view I tried to draw SWOT analysis and give some recommendations as well.
