This report's purpose is to examine the distinction between theory and practice. The first chapter is a discussion of the concept of digital journalism and the role of social media in digital journalism along with its impact on readers. In the second chapter I describe the history of Dhaka Tribune and the role it plays in a timely dissemination of news by the use of its social media wing.
