Green Icon is a commercial complex envisioned by the Amin Mohammad Group. It will consist of a shopping center and rentable office space. The site being located in the Science Lab area of Dhaka has its own characteristics and challenges. It is predominantly an educational zone, with several education and research institutions situated nearby. The program demanded by the client was reviewed through an extensive literature study. With the required programs added, the entire list of programs was further modified and enriched based on the empirical study and site context analysis. Special emphasis was given on the public realm, ease of access, and the overall outlook. Climatic considerations highly influenced the orientation and form of the building. Priority was given on reducing the cooling load and overall carbon footprint of the project.en_US
