dc.description.abstractBy the tradition of Bangladesh handicraft Jamdani,Nakshi Kantha and Jute has been core cultural elements.Rural women took Nakshi Kantha as hobby annd also a source of earning.This artisans has poured their creativity in old pieces of cloth to create a reusable material for the household,which shows their delieghtful choice of lifestyle.Due to lack of knowledge and access to the patriacal market policies they are deprived of their deserving wages.So,Bangladesh Handloom Board took the initiative to set a pl;atform deidcated to Nakshi art in Jamlapur,under Melanda upazila of Jamalpur district.Jamalpur is one of the prime city for nakshi artisans.The establishment of this project will create employment opportunities for the growing population in the rural region.In addtion to that the project will crater the exter artisans to train more for the development of the art form.Nakshi stitch is mostly practiced by the female members of the family.So this will also help in women empowerment of the rural region.As a result they will become self-sufficient and playrole as earning member of the family.The project will uphold the traditional clothing and also provide opportunities for further development of nakshi art in global market.en_US
