dc.description.abstractCode switching has become a very common phenomenon in everyday discourses as our exposure to English language has increased significantly in the recent years. We frequently mix Bengali and English together in our conversation. In the recent time, Hindi has emerged as another important influential language among the young people Bangladesh . Different satellite TV channels are playing crucial roles in affecting the style of speaking of the young speaker of Bangla. Now-a-days, a variety of speaking styles are seen among those young people, which are mixing of Bangla, English and Hindi . This paper examines the patterns and reasons behind code witching among the undergraduate students of private universities in Bangladesh. questionnaires were given to a hundred students of four private universities of the capital Dhaka to conduct the survey. Also interviews of four students were taken from these universities to collect data for this research. It was found that the students have multiple reasons of code switching and posses diverse attitude towards it.en_US
