dc.description.abstractThis dissertation illustrates about the existing seating arrangements in the schools of Bangladesh which are believed to play a constructive role in fostering students' learning in the classrooms. By investigating from the perspectives from the teachers and the students, this research exposes the present conditions of the seating arrangements that decrease the quality of teaching and learning in most of the schools. The theoretical aspects of the seating arrangement discuss the types of seating arrangements, teaching methods, the learning aspects and the difficulties that are faced in the present situation. The research methods including the research design, setting, instrumentation, data collection and data analysis procedure provides the practical context of the research. This research data collected from the students' surveys and teachers' interviews were later analyzed with individual interpretation, comparison between the non - government and government schools and on basis of the research questions. It portrays the teachers' suggestions for the classroom seating arrangement, their beliefs and the school authority's role inside the class concerning teaching and learning in the secondary schools. In conclusion, recommendations and practical implications are provided for improving the existing condition of the seating arrangements in the secondary schools of Bangladesh. To sum up, collaboration among the teachers, school authority, education board and the government is needed to improve the seating arrangements in schools for utilizing effective teaching and learning practices.en_US
