The supply chain of a pharmaceutical company involves forecasting, procurement, logistics, operations, inventory management, transportation, warehouse, distribution, customer service etc. However, it is not easy to develop a standard model of supply chain management in a business organization. NIPRO JMI Pharma Ltd. is a robust and reputed pharmaceutical company of Bangladesh and stands out as a prominent producer and exporter of pharmaceutical products. The report includes assessment of the supply chain management system of NIPRO JMI Pharma Ltd. This assessment will help the organization to develop an effective supply chain management system to obtain better performance, customer satisfaction, product quality, supplier performance, material flow integration, manufacturing machinery efficiency, and information management. The analysis will help the business to improve its plans, which eventually helps it achieve an enhanced competitive advantage. The objective of this study is to assess the extent to which the supply chain of NJPL functions; to understand it’s supply chain management; to identify the barriers and challenges of the NJPL supply chain; to make recommendations for overcoming the challenges and to improve supply chain management system.

The pharmaceutical sector is a heavily regulated sector and it can be difficult to comply with many regulatory standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and other national and international laws. Contamination, fake goods, temperature-sensitive goods, forecast errors etc. may cause supply chain interruptions of NJPL and may decrease the efficiency of the supply chain system. The resilience, effectiveness, and sustainability of NIPRO JMI Pharma Ltd supply chain may be improved by tackling the challenges and putting the suggested measures into practice.
