dc.description.abstract | This internship report documents my three-month-long experience as an intern in the reporting section of New Age, a prominent English daily in Bangladesh. The report is divided into seven chapters, each of which offers an account of different aspects of my internship experience.
The first chapter explores why journalism is an attractive career option for English media major students, and provides a brief history of New Age. The second chapter, which is the most important in this report, is my experiences as a staff correspondent.
Chapter three discusses the academic courses and theories that I found relevant to my internship experience. In chapter four, explains the benefits of journalism, including opportunities to develop writing skills, understand and analyze information, and build a network. It also highlights the importance of knowledge of the English language.
Chapters five and six discuss journalism as a lucrative career, the potential job opportunities available, and the challenges of journalism are addressed, including the stress and unpredictable working conditions.
The report concludes by reiterating journalism as a viable option for English major students and providing suggestions on the preparation needed for students considering journalism as a career.
Overall, this report offers valuable insights into the world of journalism and provides helpful information for students considering this profession. | en_US |
