Background: One of the primary causes of male pattern baldness is thought to be the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. Dutasteride, a dual 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, can prevent this conversion from proceeding in the body. Objectives: To summarize treatment patterns, baseline characteristics, and the effectiveness and long-term safety and mesotherapy of dutasteride. Methods: Systemic or structured search. Efficacy: Dutasteride demonstrated considerably greater efficacy than placebo (Eun et al., 2010). Dutasteride was more successful than finasteride for treating AGA in male patients. Erectile dysfunction (P = 0.07), safety, changed libido (P = 0.54), and ejaculatory difficulties (P = 0.58) did not differ significantly between dutasteride and finasteride (Zhou et al., 2019). Conclusions: This study unequivocally established that dutasteride increased hair growth while being generally well tolerated in general for the treatment of MPHL.en_US
