Bangladesh, one of the most densely populated nations of the world, is blessed with abundant water sources, which are being polluted with many bacteria and pathogens. The country's groundwater and surface water are polluted with coliforms and organic and inorganic contaminants. Most of the country's population depends on this water, especially groundwater sources, which contain elevated amounts of coliforms and pathogens. These are causes of many diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, skin infection, typhoid, and lots more. This study aims to determine the causes and effects of microbial water contamination in Bangladesh. It is a qualitative research paper, and information was collected from primary and secondary sources. Descriptive analysis is done on data collected from different research on microbial contamination of drinking water in Bangladesh, exploring the root cause of microbial water pathogens and coliforms. Based on the analysis, solution to the problems, and strategies are recommended for microbial contamination of drinking water.en_US
