dc.description.abstract | GLP-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are a choice of antidiabetic drugs in the management
of Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Currently, there are five classes of GLP-1 RA drugs
available in the market, all of which are widely prescribed among T2DM patients worldwide.
Despite their efficacy in managing the symptoms of T2DM, there are some unusual side effects like pancreatitis that may occur according to FAERS database while using the drugs. Although, different studies have suggested otherwise. The study that is conducted is based on the post surveillance data retrieved from FAERS database. This study has established that there is a significant association of pancreatitis and GLP-1 RAs for which signal detection was used by using reporting odds ratio (ROR). | en_US |
