Play based learning is considered very important for early primary grade children. Many developing and under developed countries are struggling to implement this play based learning method. This study aims to explore teachers’ perception on play based learning. The findings of this research indicated that teachers are generally know about play based learning in early primary grade children but they prefer conventional learning method. In terms of practice play based learning, it was found that teachers think that it will be time consuming. The research further revealed that teachers need more training and guidance to know about play based learning. As they have a very little idea about fully functioning play based learning curriculum, therefore they think it will increase their work load. This study recommended that teachers’ training on play based learning for early primary grade children is needed. Also existing curriculum and policies need to be reviewed to incorporate the play based learning pedagogy. Lastly, further research needs to be carried out on a larger scale to see a nationwide perspective.en_US
