dc.description.abstract | In this study a ready-made composite garment manufacturing and processing factory of Bangladesh is audited to measure the energy efficiency. The energy data and the auditing data are collected from the factory for the year 2018. The aims of this work is to understand the energy consumption impact on production and find out the scope of energy efficiency improvement. The source of energy are natural gas and electricity purchased from the grid. Almost 99.47% of primary energy consumption is in the form of natural gas for heating 58.15% and 41.8% for power generation. The remaining primary energy is used for commercial purpose. Result shows at utility mapping, that the compressor plant consumes 35% of electricity. Washing plant consumes on average 30.71% energy (electricity, natural gas, steam and water) which is the second highest. Data shows that there is a seasonal variation on energy consumption pattern. January shows the highest energy consumption and June shows the lowest consumption of natural gas. It is recommended that boiler, pump, gas generator, electrical motor and electrical lighting systems should be checked, and appropriate measure should be taken to improve the efficiency. | en_US |
