dc.description.abstract | Government organizations has a significant share in the economic activities in the developing countries. Hence, establishing a specific structure of government procurement has become so important for a country like Bangladesh. In this connection Bangladesh government has established an act named “Public Procurement Act-2006” and guidance rule named “Public Procurement Rules-2008” for the procurement of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies using public fund. Afterward, Bangladesh government has established some KPIs to compare and evaluate the procurement performance of the organizations compared to the act and rules.
This study is about the evaluation of effectiveness of procurement process in Bangladesh government. For this reason, a revenue funded project of Bangladesh Railway is studied here which was executed by Saidpur Railway Workshop. This is expected that this study would help to find out the barriers for effective procurement and improve the system. | en_US |
