One of the major types of air pollution is particulate matter type air pollution. This type of air pollution is mainly caused by the suspended particles created from burning fuels or other harmful gases leading to the formation of particulate matter following secondary chemical reactions. The result of particulate matter air pollution is the formation of long term chronic or acute diseases effecting the respiratory, epithelial and cardiovascular system forming allergic reactions, bronchial diseases, asthma, cardiovascular disease, etc. and the long term exposure may also lead to cancer formation. The reason for forming this type of pollution are improper uses of chemicals, burning fuels, industrialization, etc. Although some preventative measures are still taken and some of them are under developed but they are not enough. It is needed to be improved along with the cooperation of the whole country and individuals. In this review paper, we enlighten ourselves about the idea of particulate matter air pollution, its sources, and worldwide scenarios, the reasons for forming this type of pollution but most importantly its adverse effects on human health and the possible probabilities of its prevention.en_US
