The study “A Study Comparing the Prescribing Pattern of Antibiotics for Fever between Dhaka city and Different Villages in Bangladesh” was done with the aim to do a survey on the differences in antibiotic use pattern between the capital city and different villages. Due to misuse of antibiotics, the number of resistant bacteria are growing day by day. A total of 150 prescriptions were analyzed. Different classes of antibiotics were prevalent in different places. Whereas Quinolones were used in 29% of cases in Dhaka, 3rd generation Cephalosporins were used in villages in 28% of cases. These two broad spectrum antibiotics were used in highest amount in both places respectively. The rate of diagnosis indicated in villages was quite low, only 25% and in Dhaka it was 44%, which is not satisfactory as well. Antibiotics aren’t supposed to be used without diagnosis since it can have severe side effects if not used properly.en_US
