Unlike other motors, stepper motor cannot give a continuous rotation. Hence, stepper
motor is different from other motors. Stepper motor is a brushless DC motor that divides
its full rotation into a number of equal steps, where position can be commanded to move
and hold at each of these steps without any sensor for feedback. Stepper motor is widely
used in electrical and mechanical applications where at low speed, positioning accuracy,
and high speed dynamic are determining factors. Full drive and half drive modes are
general modes of stepper motor. Here, stepper motor undergoes microstepping using
ATmega32 microcontroller.
