Since 1992, Bangladesh has seen a rise in private universities after the government passed the Private University Act. Demand for higher education was rising, thus creating an opportunity for entrepreneurs to invest in universities, mostly within Dhaka. Up till now there are 68 private universities registered with the University Grants Council, most of which operate in temporary campuses, confined within a building. With the demand and number of student intake increasing every year, facilitating students has become an issue. This study aims to identify the necessary amenities required for a campus and its students along with the required environment which is evidently missing in the present scene of private universities. University of Liberal Arts (ULAB) is currently planning on establishing their permanent campus in Ramchandrapur, Dhaka which will house all the current departments and also include a football field, gym and research centres. The study will commence with site and program analysis followed by concept derivation which will transform itself into a formal expression through volumetric studies. Ultimately this study will be a walk through the process and outcome of designing ULAB’s permanent campus.en_US
